December 9, 2022 – TheNewswire – Sidus Space (NASDAQ:SIDU), a space-as-a-service company that specializes in mission-critical hardware manufacturing, has signed an agreement with Exolaunch to use their CarboNIX separation system to deploy LizzieSat satellites during SpaceX rideshare missions in 2023 and 2024. This agreement includes comprehensive technical support to ensure safe and reliable deployment of the LizzieSat microsatellites.

Earlier this year, Sidus signed a multi-launch agreement with SpaceX for five LizzieSat rideshare missions starting in 2023. As a follow-up to that agreement, Sidus chose Exolaunch’s CarboNIX system for LizzieSat separation during those missions. CarboNIX uses a patented synchronous spring pusher system to deploy LizzieSat satellites seamlessly and evenly. CarboNIX has flown on 10 missions and deployed 40 satellites with a 100% success rate.

The agreement between Sidus and Exolaunch underscores the importance of reliable, low-shock separation systems in the deployment of microsatellites. It also highlights the growing partnership between Sidus and SpaceX, as well as the potential for the commercial space industry to continue expanding in the coming years.

John Curry, Sidus Chief Mission Operations Officer, says “Sidus’s highest priority is getting LizzieSat and our customers into space safely and reliably. This Exolaunch multi-mission agreement to deploy LizzieSats from the launch vehicle provides Sidus customers high confidence their hosted payloads will arrive safely in orbit”.

Sidus Space, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida, operates from a 35,000-square-foot manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing facility focused on commercial satellite design, manufacture, launch, and data collection.
